HRC 102C - Leyland Tiger Cub/Alexander

Picture
December 1965 witnessed the arrival of 102 to the fleet of Trent Motor Traction, Derby and by April of the following year had been allocated to the Nottingham depot. During a typical life, 102 worked out of Derby (January 1971) and Belper (August 1974) until being down classed from coach to dual purpose in 1978. By December 1979 the vehicle had been withdrawn from service.

Passing through Paul Sykes (dealer) of Barnsley in November 1980, 102 (and sister vehicle 106) found continued service with Morrison of Castletown, Scotland from April 1981 until being saved for preservation in August 1998. Sadly 106 having not faired too well had been scrapped soon after purchase.

By January 2000 the present owner had stepped in and a major refurbishment was undertaken with completion some two years later. Since then a replacement engine has been fitted as well as remedial work to the front and rear skirt panels after an altercation with a lowloader!

It is hoped in the near future that enough funds can be raised to refurbish the seats and so complete this fine example.
